Tying a hook is one of the basic skills of fishing.
Tools Required:
Fishing line, hook fishing, floating, fishing, plumbing
Steps:
Preparation:
Thread the line through the lead loop of the rod and pull out the right amount of line, usually depending on the actual need.
Connecting the float and the plumb sinker:
If you plan to use floats and plumb sinkers, connect them separately to the appropriate places on the line. The sinker is used to adjust the sinking depth of the bait, while the float helps you see if any fish are hooked.
Choosing the Right Hook:
Depending on the size of the fish you intend to fish, choose the right hook. The size of the hook is usually indicated by a number, with the smaller the number indicating the larger the hook.
Thread the hook through the line:
Thread one end of the line through the hook's eye, then pull a small section downward.
Wrap around the hook:
Wrap the line around the hook body to form a loop. The size of this ring depends on the size of the hook and the thickness of the line.
Thread through the ring and strain:
Thread the end of the line through the loop you just formed again and pull it tight. This step forms a knot and the hook is firmly attached to the line.
The end of the trimming line:
Cut off the excess threads to keep them neat.
Finish:
At this point, you have successfully tied the hook. The position of the float and sinker can be adjusted again as needed.
Choosing the right cable:
Different fishing scenarios and target species may require different materials and thicknesses of line. Please choose the appropriate cable according to your needs.
Keep the hook tip sharp:
Regularly check and keep the tip of the hook sharp, which can help improve the effectiveness of the bite. You can use a professional hook grinder or sandpaper to sharpen the hook tip.
Learn to adjust the float:
The depth setting of the float directly affects whether you can detect the bite of the fish. Measure and adjust the depth of the float in the water so that you can spot the fish in time.
Try different fish hooks:
In addition to the basic single hook knot, there are many other types of fish hook knots, such as Alexander knots, figure eight knots, etc. Depending on the situation, it may be more effective to understand and try different knots.
Use the right bait:
Different species have different preferences for bait. Before fishing, understanding the feeding habits of the target species and choosing the right bait can improve your fishing success rate.
Learn Other Fishing Tips:
In addition to tying hooks, knowing other fishing techniques, such as casting rods, reeling lines, adjusting floats, etc., can make you more comfortable in actual fishing.
Before fishing, know and follow the local fishing rules and regulations so that your fishing activity is legally compliant.
